For nearly three decades, Thievery Corporation has captivated the world with its unique music style, merging genres and cultures from Brazilian and Indian to Jamaican and jazz. Renowned as a cultural phenomenon, they unite people through the universal language of music. Founders Eric Hilton and Rob Garza began in the 1990s in Washington, forging a distinctive sound free from label pressures. Their debut album, "Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi" (1996), mixed dub, bossa nova, and electronica, followed by the acclaimed "The Mirror Conspiracy" (2000) and the socially conscious "The Richest Man in Babylon" (2002). The Grammy-nominated "Radio Retaliation" (2008) introduced reggae and Afro-beat, while "Treasures from the Temple" (2018) blended remixes with new songs emphasizing social awareness.
