Arena Hospitality Group expands its portfolio with FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort in Nassfeld
Hotel Arena Franz Ferdinand Nassfeld
Arena Hospitality Group continues the announced expansion of its portfolio throughout Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to the existing hotels, resorts and campsites in Pula and Medulin, as well as hotels in Germany, Hungary and Serbia, AHG has expanded its business to Austria by completing the purchase of FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort in Nassfeld worth HRK 112 million.
With this strategic move, AHG has entered a new market that will complement Group’s existing business. The takeover and management of the hotel start in the winter season 2021/2022. The 4-star FRANZ ferdinand Mountain Resort Nassfeld is located in Tröpolach, within the famous winter resort and ski centre in Nassfeld (Carinthia, Austria).
The hotel offers 144 rooms, a restaurant, bar, wellness and sauna, children's facilities and private parking. One of the main attractions of the hotel is the 16-meter-high adventure climbing wall. Another unique feature is that each room comes with its own storage for bicycles, skis and boots, i.e. winter and sports equipment. Arena Hospitality Group plans to further invest in the purchased hotel and build new facilities to further improve the position and competitiveness of the hotel. It is planned to build a connected indoor-outdoor pool, a spacious wellness centre with saunas and relaxation areas, animation and children's facilities, and an outdoor bar. Detailed projects for these additional hotel facilities are already being prepared and developed, and the value of the investment is HRK 15 million.
For lovers of winter sports, skiing and snowboarding, there are 110 km of slopes within 50 meters from the hotel that are reachable by cable cars; while in summer Nassfeld is popular for lovers of hiking, climbing, tracking and mountain biking. Austria is one of the Group’s largest markets, thus the combination of the summer leisure business on the Adriatic and the alpine destination of Nassfeld, which are close both geographically and by road, further strengthens the market positioning of Arena Hospitality Group that now offers opportunities for summer, winter and city tourism.
Mr Reli Slonim, CEO of Arena Hospitality Group said: “This new acquisition puts AHG in a new field of business that expands to winter activities. It comes at a very special time for the company when we end an amazing season; while at the same time, we are starting the construction of a five-star hotel in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, and are carrying out the final phase of the reconstruction of the Grand Hotel Brioni, our most luxurious hotel in Pula.
